President of the SMILE Team - Jerome Harrell

When you walk through the doors of Jones Chapel-Conroe, chances are the first face you'll see is that of Brother Jerome Harrell. What a blessing that is.

Brother Harrell is more than just the leader of the SMILE Team; he embodies its heart, its mission, and its purpose. A man of service, he is truly a modern-day example of what it means to live like Christ. If ever there were someone who could do it all, it’s him. A selfless servant, a devoted husband, an engaged father, a gifted author, a faithful church member, and a mentor to youth, Jerome Harrell is the definition of excellence in action.

 He balances a full-time job, raises five amazing children, writes books in his spare time, and somehow still finds time to train youth in the art of boxing. When asked why boxing is so important, Brother Harrell says, “Boxing teaches our youth discipline, self-control, resilience, and the power to stand firm even when life punches back; and that’s what builds champions in the ring and life.” And that's what makes a difference.

Jerome is married to his best friend and soulmate, Katrice Harrell. Their love story began with a glance and culminated in a wedding just ten months later at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, TX. Together, they are the proud parents of five incredible children: Kadedra (19), Trinity (16), Kira (15), and twin sons Kaleb & Tyler (11). Not only does Jerome lead by example, but he leads by legacy; his daughters, Trinity and Kira, serve alongside him on the SMILE Team, sharing their father’s passion for making others feel seen, loved, and welcomed.

President Harrell’s dedication to the vision of Jones Chapel, to revitalize lives one soul at a time by emulating the actions of Christ, is seen in everything he does. His hands may build, his words may inspire, and his heart may lead, but his smile speaks volumes. He doesn’t just greet people; he connects with them, making each person feel like they truly matter.

Brother Harrell is the kind of leader who doesn’t need a spotlight; his light shines naturally through how he serves. He doesn’t just represent the SMILE Team; he is the definition of it:
